MISSION AND VISION
Education as an opportunity for everyone
We believe that every person should have access to quality education, regardless of where they are born or the economic, social and family circumstances in which they grow up.
For us, education is about more than sharing knowledge. It means helping every student develop their abilities, confidence and the tools to choose their own future. This is why we support educational initiatives conceived and led by local communities, designed to last and gradually become independent of our support.
Our idea of a school
We began in Kenya, where we are working with Nielimishe Foundation and other local partners to develop a new school complex. It will be an inclusive, sustainable residential secondary school, created to provide a safe environment and a well-rounded education.
The project aims to continue welcoming students from Kakuma refugee camp and girls growing up in vulnerable circumstances, including those at risk of early marriage or female genital mutilation. The school will also welcome other students from the surrounding area and remain firmly rooted in the community that will lead it.
This will be our pilot project, not a rigid model to be imposed elsewhere. We want to learn from the experience, build an approach that can sustain itself over time and continue supporting other educational projects shaped by the needs and ideas of local communities.
Our partnership principle in practice
NIELIMISHE FOUNDATION
Nielimishe Foundation is our partner in Kenya. Founded in 2024 by Peter Musau, a school leader and STORM collaborator since the very beginning, it ensures local leadership for the work we have developed together over the years.
Director Martha, one of our former students, leads the local team and helps define priorities. Together we develop projects, raise funds and tell their story, with Nielimishe leading the work on the ground.
A project growing in Kenya
In 2024, Nielimishe Foundation acquired eleven hectares of land for the construction of a new school complex. In the meantime, it continues to accompany supported students through scholarships and mentoring activities.
